10 September 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 10th [September 1896]. Typed for Sophie in the morning. After lunch she went out to bid good bye to the Curtis. We had tea at 4.30 & then went off in gondola to the Lido—landed at S. Elisabetta & then walked to Quattro Fontane where the gondola met us & took us home. I read Ch. Rossetti to Sophie & she made a couple of sketches. Dined upstairs in the studio & went early to bed. | |
