12 September 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 12th [September 1896]. I wrote letters. Had an interview with the Engineer Mattei about repairs to be done in this house. Sr Trombini came to see me– Brought bad news of Olga & Cini says she cannot live 48 hours. Had tea at 5 to which Iduna came & then we went out together to leave cards on the sposi Valentine Mocenigo & Ct Robilant then to the Eden’s garden to get roses for Olga—& I went in to see Mlle Aspasie. She is very sad– Olga was sleeping—probably the effect of morphine & very weak. Poor Aspasie—it is her last relation & she will be quite alone– In 6 years she loses—sister & mother & niece–
