13 September 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 13th [September 1896]. I took Iduna to church in the morning & then went to see Aspasie & found a bad account of Olga Montenegro. Sent to fetch Iduna at 4 & then we had tea & went out together for a row. Landed at the Public gardens & walked there & in the Campo di Marto—& talked over old days & friends at Constantinople. After dinner I began to make notes of the story of my childhood which, however, I shall probably tear up—they are very trivial. | |
