23 September 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 23rd [September 1896]. Typed all morning & again after lunch. Jack & Nevil walked out & were to meet me at tea at the Curtis at 4.30. It was past 4 when the Saxe Meiningen party appeared & I had to give them tea– They stayed about an hour & when they went I hurried off to Palazzo Barbaro to join the Gordons & found there a small party. | |
