28 November 1896 — Springfield Lodge, nr. Dorking, Surrey | |
Saturday. 28th [November 1896]. We took a drive at 2 o’cl & went to Holmwood to call on my brother Arthur’s friend Mrs Perkins. She seemed very pleasant– Has a nice house & lovely flowers. Pots of chrysanthemums trained over wire umbrella shapes– Maria & I had had talks with my gardener GG (George Goschen) about planting bulbs &c—roses &c &c. | |
