30 December 1896 — Inwood, Henstridge, Somerset | |
Wednesday. 30th [December 1896]. I went to Wimborne by a morning train & arrived at Canford at lunch time. Francie Thesiger came to the front door to welcome me. I found my sister Connie staying there—also Nela Du Cane– Ivor, Fred Thesiger & Lionel Guest were out shooting. Freddie & Mr Watson his Johannesberg friend were out hunting with Merthyr’s hounds. The Thesigers, Freddie Guest & I played whist in the evening. | |
