31 December 1896 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Thursday. 31st [December 1896]. The men went out shooting. Connie & Francie drove in to Wimborne in the morning. Nela & I walked thro’ the park by the new drive to Knighton to Wheeler’s lane to meet the shooting party & have lunch in a tent where we were joined by Connie & Francie. Met there Baron d’Erlanger & Count Herman Hatzfeldt who were shooting with Ivor. B. d’Erlanger is a French banker married to an American & living at Somerley Lord Normanton’s place wh he has rented. He seems agreeable. I walked home with Connie after lunch & Nela & Francie went with the shooters. | |
