2 January 1897 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Saturday. 2nd January [1897]. I finished my copy of the Infanta in the morning. Nela & Francie went out to lunch with the shooters. Connie & I remained at home to lunch with little Oscar Guest & his governess. I went to the churchyard to copy the inscription on Henry’s grave for the monument I am going to place in St Margaret’s Westr to his memory. I then went on to the schools to join Connie who was helping Mr Fawkes with his Christmas Tree for the school children. We then went to the Vicarage to pay Mrs Fawkes a visit & then went home to tea. | |
