20 January 1897 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 20th [January 1897]. I walked with Eda this afternoon to Thurlow Sqr. It was bitterly cold. A NE wind. I called on Mrs Oldford while Eda went to her dressmaker. I lent the carriage to Sophy who came in to tea. Eda & I came back from Sloane St in a hansom. At 6 Monty Alderson & Mr Butler arrived & I gave them & Eda dinner. I sat with them whilst they eat & Mr Butler did not find this out. At 7 I sent those 3 to the Drury Lane Pantomime in the carriage. At 8 I had my real dinner & Sir Gerald & Lady FitzGerald, & the Bishop of Southwell & Lolly Bidding dined with Sophy & me.
