1 April 1897 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 1st April [1897]. Studio in morning. After lunch Maria & Lady Gregory who had been to lunch with Mrs Borwick came on here—& then when Maria left I walked with Augusta & we went in search of a hat for me to wear in the country. I found Mrs Sidney Glyn calling here on Nellie when I returned & also Col. Mansell Pleydell. This evening my good cook Bertha left me having been in the house 5 years—a valued & valuable servant whom I shall much miss. The new cook Matilda Hillier took her place.
