24 April 1897 — Bessborough, Fiddown, County Kilkenny
Saturday. 24th April [1897]. There was a lull after the concert and we had a quiet day. Worked, read & walked– Blanche went down to the garden to take leave of the gardener who tho’ he had been at Bessboro’ for 12 years had to be dismissed as thoroughly incompetent. I accompanied here & we were out most of the morning– In the afternoon she rode—& I did not go out again.
