25 April 1897 — Bessborough, Fiddown, County Kilkenny
Sunday. 25th April [1897]. Went to morning service with the family. Edward & I sat at home & talked in the afternoon till tea time. He told me all his difficulties on the estate—having to change gardener, game keeper & coachman– He finds it almost impossible to go on with the Irish people & is getting English & Scotch. After tea I took a walk with Blanche but it grew damp & rainy.
