15 May 1897 — Burren, nr. Kinvara, County Galway
Saturday. 15th [May 1897]. Wrote & read MS in the morning. After lunch read again. Sent my maid & Mrs Dhooly out for a drive to the blessed well of S. Patrick to their great delight. The cold wind suddenly ceased & went round to the South. After tea we went for a walk along the shore & up to the wood which we reached by getting over a stile. It was a warm beautiful evening & we climbed about in the wood gathering flowers & the first bits of May which we found in flower—& we came in to dinner some time after 8. Did some more MS in the evening.
