2 August 1897 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset | |
Monday. 2nd [August 1897]. Bank Holiday. Lovely day. Arthur took Lady Margaret & me to the Warren in the morning to fish—but we none of us caught anything—& I was upset by the heat of the sun & was faint at lunch time & had to retire to my room & lie down till tea time at 5. Mr Gordon was not well either– At 7 I walked down to Cobbs & watched Arthur fish but tho’ they were rising he fished in vain. | |
