3 August 1897 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset
Tuesday. 3rd [August 1897]. Helped Arthur to name his seedling carnations. He gave them names of his family & friends. Painted Mrs Lug. Mr & Mrs Albert Bankes & their daughter & 2 other young ladies came to tea & we took them to see the church. My brother Arthur left today & went to Cardiff for a railway meeting. After tea I drove the poney carriage to Chamberlain’s Bridge & fished but got nothing. Back to supper at 9.
