15 September 1897 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 15th [September 1897]. We each of us breakfasted in our rooms & I worked in the library as usual. Guggenheim sent to ask if I wd see him & he came at 12– He chattered hard as usual—asked me to allow Anderson the Roman photographer to photograph the pictures in this house, & I gave permission. After lunch I took Lady Vivian to the Piazza to look at pearl necklaces, she being tempted to buy a row. We returned home to tea & afterwards took a walk by the Rialto & round home by the iron bridge. In the evening we played Besique.
