3 November 1897 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 3rd [November 1897]. Typed all the morning. Dr Cini came to see the footman & tells me he has a chronic desease & he advised me not to bring him back here again. This is rather a blow to me as I like him & he is a good quiet lad. After lunch Nela & I went to the Eden’s garden for a short time—then to the Piazza. Came home intending to go to Mme le Maillet the wife of the French Consul next door—but Edith Rucellai came to tea so Nela went with Mrs Eden who fetched her. Clara & Hilda Montalba also came & Mr Woods. Nela read to me in the evening.
