Thursday. 4th [November 1897]. I had a long letter from the Empress Fred this morning & amongst other things she said she wished I were at Trent where she is staying so I wrote to offer to go there to see her. Typed all the morning. A pouring wet day so did not stir out—& no one came to call. | |
