21 December 1897 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 21st December [1897]. The hair dresser came to wash my hair at 9 so I breakfasted at 8 & paid bills, wrote letters & then went over to Palazzo Mocenigo at 11. Marchese Bentivoglio was not there to help so all went slower than yesterday. We lunched at 1—& then I went out in gondola at 2 & Iduna accompanied me & we went shopping to look for various Christmas presents. At 4 I looked in to Pal: Mocenigo again & then at 5 went home. Clara & Hilda Montalba came to tea & stayed a long time talking very pleasantly. Olga Mocenigo & Iduna came & dined with us. | |
