1 February 1898 — 17 Cavendish Square | |
Tuesday. 1st February [1898]. I lunched with Nelly at Savile Row & then walked back to Half Moon St & remained there a while but Arthur had not had a very good night so I did not see him today as I had hoped to do. I dined at Cavendish Square & Mr A. Burton the surgeon was there & he escorted me to Savile Row afterwards on foot—as I went to sleep in my own house. Arthur’s cook Jane came up from Bere to my house to cook for me– I could not have my own bedroom as it was not ready—the floor was being polished so I slept in Monty’s room. | |
