16 February 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 16th [February 1898]. I walked to Half Moon St in the morning but did not see Arthur so came straight back & soon after I got home I had a visit from Lady Stanhope who had been a great friend of mine when she was Evelyn Pennefather & before I was married– My sister Constance came in at the same time & stayed on to luncheon– In the afternoon I drove in a cab to Eaton Terrace to see the dressmaker Murray Brook from Brussels she being over here for a few days. I met there Lady Dering whom I had not seen since the days her husband, then Mr Dering, had been on Henry’s staff at Madrid. I walked home by 4.30. Mr Mansell Pleydell, Arthur Du Cane & Rhuvon Guest came to tea–
