9 March 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 9th [March 1898]. My wedding day. Wrote till 12 when I walked to Cavendish Square to see Blanche. Met her at her door just coming to me—so we took a walk together as far as Half Moon st where she enquired after Arthur & then back in a hansom to Cav Sqr & I lunched there. Afterwards went to Mrs Hunt’s regis: office for servants to enquire for a 1st housemaid & then home by 4. Nela & Isabella Du Cane came to tea. Later Louis DC. came & brought me from Glyn’s bank my jewels & Assyrian necklace wh were deposited there in 1894. I had a visit from Elaine Guest & her fiancé Mr Villiers to present him to me & to say they accept the loan of Ca Capello for the honeymoon. Elaine was in great spirits. He is very quiet. Dined alone & to bed early.
