17 March 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 17th [March 1898]. St Patricks Day. Today was held a great sale of work done by the Irish Industries. Blanche had a stall & I had promised to go & help her to sell. After lunch Kate & I walked to Half Moon Street & took Nellie with us to the Sale. It was a tremendous crowd & they did not stay. Finding that I was not particularly wanted & being very soon knocked up I accepted Mrs Sydney Glyn’s offer of a lift home & came home at 4.30 & rested. In the morning I went off to see Mrs Tom Bruce & her daughter to talk over parrots—& she told me she thought she knew where I might be able to buy one for Arthur who has a fancy to have a tame parakeet.
