18 March 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 18th [March 1898]. Blanche called for me abt 12 in her carriage & she, Edward & I went to Brook St to see rooms she is going to take for the permanent sale of Irish Industries. We then went on to Lansdowne House & I helped Miss Jeffery to arrange the stall for today’s sale. Returned home to lunch & Lady Gregory came & afterwards went there again for a short time—& then took Kate for a drive in an electric motor car. It was the first time we had ever tried it & it was a queer sensation going along so happily without a horse! Kate was delighted & had been anxious to make the experience. We went up to Park Crescent to see Maria. She was not in but we met her near & went back & paid her a visit– Walked back home to tea– Today it felt quite like spring & was very pleasant.
