Monday. 21st [March 1898]. Kate & I walked to Half Moon St in the afternoon & then went up to see Maria & so home to tea. Lord & Lady Bessboro’ came to tea & stayed a long time. Mrs Hills the board school mistress at Chaucer School came to see me to ask me to lend her money as a building security & I promise to enquire into it & let her know. Kates eldest son Gus came up at 7 to meet Dr Lankester & have advise about a bad cold that he has got. He wd not remain to dinner. | |
