31 March 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 31st [March 1898]. I worked at sorting letters till past 12 when I went off to the Garry Hill shop 20 Brook St by appt to meet Blanche but was late & missed her so returned home. My sister Maria came to lunch with me. Seems better—& not quite so shaky. When she left soon after lunch I went to see Arthur who is better & stronger & sat up a little in a chair. I went for a walk did a little shopping & went home. My old friend Mrs Clay Ker Seymer called at tea time. I have not seen her for ages– She is younger than me—but has led a very different life. Was very rich & has run thro’ all her money & altogether has got into queer ways—but she is always the same in her pleasant funny ways & I was glad to see her. Charlie Eliot also called & some of the Du Cane girls.
