22 June 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 22nd [June 1898]. Arthur had a very good night & was on his couch in the drawing room at 10 & breakfasted with Rhuvon. It was a very hot day. I finished reading Hogarth’s Essay of Philip of Macedonia. Put up flowers from Bere. Rhuvon & Nellie lunched out so Arthur & I were alone at lunch. He was in his wheel chair & went back to the couch soon afterwards. I had a visit from Mlle Perpigna of whom I am very fond. She has just come back from a visit to the Empress Frederick at Friedrichshof. Afterwards Mr Rate came & we sat talking together in the patio. Then I made tea for Mrs Jellico in the drawing room. Nellie came in at 6 & then I went for a short walk returning home at 7. Dressed for dinner. Watered the flowers in the patio. Rhuvon & Nellie dined with me– Cooler this evening.
