10 November 1898 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 10th [November 1898]. Worked at copying pictures with the camera lucida– Lunched at 1 intending to go to the station to see Css Canevaro off by train at 2 PM for Rome. I had arranged with Mrs Eden to come & go with us. We sat ready waiting & she did not come so we did not go. I expect I made some mistake. Just before 3 Mme Wolkoff came to call bringing with her her old Aunt Mrs O’Connell who was kind eno’ to make the effort to mount my stairs to pay me a visit. Afterwards we went out in gondola. Called on the Montalbas & then walked home. Iduna looked in late when I was in my bedroom writing French Exercises. | |
