25 November 1898 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 25th [November 1898]. We thought we would have another try for an inkstand & found one at Padovan near here at S. Aponal. I ordered a suitable inscription to be engraved on it. We went then on foot & sent the gondola to Rialto to meet us—but as it came on to rain hard we got wet & had to hurry home as quick as we could. Idita called to see me & promises to come & dine on Sunday. | |
