12 December 1898 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 12th [December 1898]. Copied a portrait of Moroni wh with giving out stores &c took me all the morning. Went out in gondola with Augusta. A lovely day but very low tide– Rowed round by Fondamenta Nuove & Canareggio & got out at Rialto & walked to the Piazza—ordered Augusta’s railway ticket at Cooks—walked to the Curtis & were going to pay them a visit when suddenly a thick fog came on so we jumped into the gondola which me us there & hastened home– In the evening several people came as the fog cleared a little. Olga Mocenigo & her sister Adine came & Herr Passini & the brothers Cozzi. | |
