1 March 1899 — Rovigo | |
Wednesday. 1st March [1899]. I left the train sending the servants direct to Venice. Css Pisani’s carriage met me (at 12) & drove me to Vescovana by abt 1. I had lunch & then sat & talked to the Countess the whole afternoon telling her all about Rome & her friends & my doings. We dined at 7 & went to bed at 9. | |
