18 March 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 18th [March 1899]. Had a headache & was not able to do much nor to come down to luncheon– Mrs Eden came to see me & I went out to walk with her & we bought some palm trees for the drawing room here– Came home to tea. Bss Helenbach came to tea & B. & Bss Haan—all talked at the top of their voices & reduced me to silence. Mr Woods R.A. came to dine with me & we talked over the church improvement plans the organ loft & memorial tablets. | |
