9 April 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 9th [April 1899]. We went to morning service in English Church– Came home & put last touches to the “Memoirs” & locked up the papers I used for it. After lunch went to see Iduna Belmondo who is not very well then home & fetched Lady Vivian & took her to the Edens garden where we had tea under the arbour. Met there Mr & Lady Margaret Watney, & others, Venetians. Left the gondola at the Piazza & we walked home over the Rialto. | |
