22 April 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 22nd [April 1899]. Lord William & Lady Florence Cecil came to luncheon with me– Afterwards I went out in gondola with Iduna & she left me at the Eden’s garden– I had arranged to meet the Cecils at the steps of the Redentore church but as they were not there I went on the Edens & they joined me there. I introduced them to the Edens & we all had tea there & walked about enjoying the lilies of the valley—the iris & anemones. The weather was not very warm– | |
