Thursday. 4th [May 1899]. My sister Blanche came to lunch also Aimée Cariati & Monty Alderson. The latter had come to try & arrange something about Byford– My brother Monty advises me to turn the man out neck & crop– Monty Alderson begs me to let him remain on his month which I agree to do. After lunch I went out with Monty A. in a hansom to the dressmaker to try on my gown & then we came home to tea & Nellie joined us. Monty remained on to dinner & returned by an evening train to Hatfield. | |
