8 May 1899 — 3 Savile Row | |
Monday. 8th [May 1899]. Today I had my carriage for the first time. I hired a 2 horse brougham, coachman groom & all complete for £16.16 a week—as arranged for me by Edward & Blanche. Went out driving at 3 & first drove to 17 Cav. Sqr. I found Blanche just going out. Edward was in bed with a severe cold so I sat with him a bit & we again discussed the Merthyr-Rhuvon law suit—but with the result that we do not see how it is to be stopped now. I returned home at 5 & found Mary Alderson just arrived to stay with me—& we had tea. Nellie dined with us & left for a concert in the middle of dinner. | |
