Sqr. Mr C. Wyld, Mr Arthur Glyn, Mr Stephenson, Mr Chandos Pole Gell, Arthur Du Cane, Doris Vivian, Miss Cole, Mary, Nellie & I made up the party. We dined abt 9 o’clock & went on to the ball abt 11. P. & Pss Christian & their daughter Pss Victoria had dined there before the ball—which was not a very large one but most successful & the house looked very pretty. I stayed a very short time & was home again by 12.30. Nelly & Mary came home much later.
