30 June 1899 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 30th [June 1899]. I gave a tea party to Lady Cranborne’s 3 children the eldest of whom is 8. Francie also brought her little Joan. Nellie & I went out after lunch & bought some skipping ropes & a top to amuse them. I went to Park Crescent & fetched the twin Du Cane girls– Several other nieces also came. Old Mr J. Ward came & enjoyed seeing the little ones. Emily Lady Ampthill called & found the youthful party going on. Reggie Alderson & Arthur Du Cane came also Constance & Blanche (my sisters). We had tea in the dining room & the children played in the Court yard after tea. Reggie, Arthur DC. & Mary Alderson dined here with Nellie. I went to dine with the Duncannons & sat with Blanche whilst she dressed for the State Concert to wh she was going & I came home at 10.30 to bed.
