2 July 1899 — 3 Savile Row
Sunday. 2nd July [1899]. I went to early 10 o’cl service at the German Chapel Royal & saw the Pss of Wales & the D. & Dss of York there. Stayed in all day– Sir Henry Thompson came to tea & Mr Horatio Brown who is over from Venice for a short time– Went to 7 o’cl service at St James’ Piccadilly. Dined alone. Nellie dined with the Salisburys. Lady S. is better & goes tomorrow to Walmer. But she must be more ill than her family will allow for she has been twice tapped with in this last month—& it seems much like dropsy.
