9 September 1899 — Wengen | |
Saturday. 9th [September 1899]. The fine weather entirely disappeared—there were violent thunderstorms & heavy rains & it became very chilly. The young people & their father walked down to Lauterbrunnen & came back soaked. Kate & I did not move & we all sat in my bed room in the evening & drank coffee wh we made ourselves with my Etna. | |
