19 September 1899 — Villa Pisani, Vescovana
Tuesday. 19th [September 1899]. Cecil & all the young people left by a very early train & went off to Padua to see the sights there & returned to Venice in the afternoon. Kate & I remained on at Vescovana till after dinner & then returned to Venice getting home about 11—& went to bed after having had tea in my bedroom. I was sorry to have found Countess Pisani far more rheumatic than when I left her in the winter. She has a great difficulty in walking & in rising from her chair.
