3 October 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 3rd [October 1899]. Directly after lunch I went out to the Eden’s garden to get some Michelmas daisies & then brought home & arranged them in the rooms. Our sindaco Count Grimani came to 5 o’cl tea & also Lady Henry Somerset. She stayed on some time talking. She intended to remain some time at Venice but finds that Lord Henry is staying in Venice & fears she will have to leave. I had not seen her since the day she came to see Henry the week before he died. We spoke of it. He was very fond of her as a child–
