21 October 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 21st [October 1899]. I woke with a slight headache so I remained in bed till after lunch. Sophy read to me and I got better so rose after lunch & Sophy & I set off for a walk round by the station to the Piazza. We got there at 4 just as the Lottery was being drawn in the Loggia. May joined us at the same time in the gondola & saw the Lottery & we came home to 5 o’cl tea. Css Brandolin came to call. She has come from the country to wait on the Queen who is to arrive tomorrow. Iduna also came to tea. | |
