26 October 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 26th [October 1899]. May came into my room & breakfasted with me at 8. I wrote letters &c in morning. After lunch May & I walked to the Piazza & were met by the gondola & came home to tea & were quite alone. Sophy returned from Vescovana after 11 at night having enjoyed her visit & having met there Mme & Mlle Giacomelli & Marchesa Olga Guiccioli. We sat up talking a long time before we retired for the night. | |
