10 November 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 10th [November 1899]. Wrote & arranged work for my type writing. After lunch went in gondola to Hotel d’Europe to fetch Sir Wm & Lady Thistleton Dyer and took them to see mosaics made at the Venezia Murano works at S. Vio & also to see Rubelli’s silk & damask looms close by; then took then to the Edens garden & we had tea with the Edens in their palm house there. The chrysanthemums are just in their beauty today & there has not yet been any frost or cold to hurt them. I dined upstairs in the studio next my bedroom—the rooms on 1st floor are not yet quite ready.
