26 November 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 26th [November 1899]. I called at Iduna Belmondo’s house in the morning & took her to church. I went again to the 3.30 service & met Fanny Browning there & walked to the Rezzonico with her & called to see old Miss Browning. The dear old lady is looking aged & frail but is as lively & delightful as ever. I had tea with them & remained till nearly 6 when Fanny brought me home in her gondola as she went to the station to meet her husband who was coming down from Asolo. After dinner played harmonium. | |
