9 December 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 9th [December 1899]. The wind still continues but it was beautifully bright clear day. I walked off to my sitting & thence to the Curtis where I lunched. After that I went to Carry Eden & we resumed our chasse & were lucky eno’ to find at last several pieces of furniture & altogether had a great success. Came home by 5. Young Baroness Franchetti came to see me & I showed her the upper part of this house—the library, studio & my bedroom which amused & interested her. All these evenings I play the harmonium for an hour after dinner. | |
