15 December 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 15th [December 1899]. As it rained nearly all night there was not much snow left this morning & it was not so cold. I went in gondola to the Montalbas to sit to Ellen for my portrait. It came on to rain & blow again at 12 so I returned home in gondola. Had a visit from Prof. Trombini. After lunch copied pictures till 4 when I went to see Mrs Christie. There met Mr A. Montalba & brought him with me home to tea & he stayed & had a long chat. | |
