20 March 1900 — 3 Savile Row
Tuesday. 20th March [1900]. Worked at jackets for the Wounded to send on board the Pss of Wales at Southampton. Eda & Nelly went out together before & after lunch & Eda came back for me & we took a short walk together from 3.30 to 4.30 & then returned home to prepare for the Madeira Committee. Mrs Tom Bruce came in to tea & Mrs LaTerrière. Dr Hyslop, Dr Bond & Mr Cazenove also came to tea & then afterwards we retired to the dining room & were joined by Lady Gwendolin Cecil & the Dss of St Albans. Miss Oswell made notes. We got thro’ the work very expeditiously. I informed the Committee that we had 2 patients & had hopes of more. At 6 they all left. Nela came to call & I kept her to dine with me as Eda was sent for to dine at 17 Cav. Sqr. I sat with Monty before dinner some time & again before going to bed; it is quite like old times. Nelly left this afternoon to hunt in Northamptonshire.
