23 March 1900 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 23rd [March 1900]. I got a letter from Francie Thesiger saying she had expected me to dinner last night—& I had stupidly got into my head that it was tonight that I ought to have gone– So directly after luncheon I went off to 46 Eaton Place to make my confession & get forgiven. Nela came to lunch with me & confided to me her worries & misgivings. I went from Francie’s down to Bethlem Hospital in a hansom to have a talk with Dr Hyslop over MCH. Had tea with Mrs Hyslop & then came home. Eda & Nela & Louis DC. dined with me & then the 3 went off to a concert at St James’ Hall for which Blanche had given them tickets. I typed out notices for a Committee meeting on Tuesday next. The P. of Wales came to see Monty this afternoon–
